Carpenter – Job Description

Overview
Skilled Carpenter responsible for finishing work, deck construction, concrete formwork, and general carpentry tasks. The role requires precision, efficiency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Finish Carpentry
  • Install trim, baseboards, crown moulding, doors, and hardware
  • Complete cabinetry, shelving, and detailed woodwork
  • Ensure high-quality finishing and attention to detail
• Deck Construction
  • Build and install wood/composite decks
  • Measure, cut, and assemble framing and decking materials
  • Install railings, stairs, and structural supports
• Concrete Formwork
  • Build and set forms for footings, walls, and slabs
  • Align and secure formwork to specifications
  • Strip forms and assist with finishing concrete surfaces
• General Carpentry
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately
  • Operate hand and power tools safely
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site

Requirements

• Proven carpentry experience (finishing, decks, and/or formwork)
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Ability to read plans and follow instructions
• Valid driver’s license (preferred)
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors
